“Who am I?”

“What am I created for?”

“What is my purpose?

“How can I discover my identity in Christ?”

Have you ever asked these questions? These questions all sound so familiar to me because I have once asked these very same questions. There comes a point in time in a person’s life when one desires more fulfillment in life. This desire and yearning for more from life can only be quenched by God the Creator. True fulfillment comes from doing all God has created for you to do. Our complete identity is in Christ alone, and the finished work He accomplished on the cross to redeem you and I so that we might have a right to the tree of life. God desires that we discover our identity in Him alone. Life makes no sense without Christ. He came so that you could know who you are. God, the Maker of the universe, desires that you know Him fully. When you know Him you truly discover who you are because you were made in His image and likeness. He desires that we act like Him, look like Him, and talk like Him. He is our Father and we are His children. We should have some of His characteristics and features when we know our identity.

“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” -Romans 8:19 KJV

In this season, I believe God is giving us the resources and tools we need to walk full force in the vision He is calling for us to do. To get somewhere you have never been, you must do something you have never done. The world is waiting for the people of God to realize who they are and walk in their calling. God wants to manifest some things in this season for His daughters and sons. The work that He has birthed in you is so specific to you. He has something special for His children. You have unique gifts and talents that you must unleash so that the body of Christ might be helped. All that you have learned through your past experiences, and all that you are learning right now has prepared you for this moment. The moment you were created for. Your life has meaning and you are not here by accident. God knew these things from the beginning about the role you would play in advancing the Kingdom of God. Walk in your purpose and plan God has for you, sis!

 

Will you continue to move forward even when you do not see the results? When you go hard after that vision and calling God has placed in Your life the enemy is not going to like it. He will create complete havoc all around you trying to stop you. Carry on, sis! He does not have the victory over your life. Faith in God confuses the enemy. He knows that you are not going to give up that easily. You make him out of a lie. God is not moved by our circumstances, He is moved by your faith. Faith that says, “No matter what it looks like I am still going to press forward in faith and continue to do the work God is calling me to do!” God designed you to experience extraordinary fulfillment when you are doing what you are created to do. To achieve fulfillment, you must discover who you are and what problems you are supposed to solve, develop your problem-solving skills in that area, and enjoy life while solving those problems.

 

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.”- Romans 12:6-8 (KJV)

The seven gifts in Romans 12:6-8 are better known as the redemptive gifts. In the Designed for Fulfillment: A Study of the Redemptive Gifts, Charles Wale calls these gifts Prophet, Servant, Teacher, Exhorter, Giver, Ruler, and Mercy. We inherently have all been given a different portion of these gifts but one is the dominant gift. It is so important that we learn about our design so we can truly help the body of Christ, and improve in our relationships with others. In discovering your gift ponder  on these questions:

What motivates your heart?

What gift seems to fit my natural tendencies?

How do you respond to weaknesses in others?

What do your close friends and family see in you?

Most importantly, what does your heavenly Father say?

Read the following descriptions of the seven redemptive gifts and place a check in the box next to each characteristic that strongly describes you. After you have read all seven descriptions, you should have one profile that you identify with the most. This is most likely your dominant redemptive gift. (Designed for Fulfillment pg.21)
