What Does It Mean To Be A Daughter of the King?

What Does It Mean To Be A Daughter of the King

Born again, shielded and covered by grace, Jesus lover, child of God, Holy Ghost filled, water baptized, bold, fearless, a container of fire, indestructible-extraordinary human being full of faith. WHO AM I? I am Nicki, daughter of the King, who was not born to live like everyone else. I am a container of power, created to rule here on earth as Jesus Christ did and is still doing today.

John 14:12

As His daughter, the same anointing, which was upon His life, also rests upon my life. John 14:12 was one of the first scriptures I came across and understood when I got saved almost seven years ago.  It was then I realized I am not ordinary. My life finally made sense, as to why I did not fit in growing up. Why I passed through many waters and did not drown. Why I walked through fire, and did not get burn. God kept me through it all. Why? He has a plan and purpose for my life.  My name is Nicki Edwards; I live in NYC. God has called me to encourage others through His word.

Last year, the Lord spoke to me concerning my writing, He said, “Why was it so easy for you to blog about entertainment news when you were in the world?” He basically called me out on it. I wrote about things that brought no edification to others. But here I am saved, and I have not done anything with the talent He has given to me.  One Sunday I sat under the teaching of my Pastor, he ministered on 2 Corinthians 5:18 “And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.” I was blown away by this message. Here God was telling me it is my duty to bring others back to Christ, and I was called to do it. Not through preaching or teaching the gospel but through writing. This revelation led to the birth of my blog. My writing was something I’ve always overlooked and seen as insignificant. I gave up on it the minute I got saved. I wanted to be an entertainment journalist, and I realized this was not God’s will for me. So I prayed and asked God to lead me to the industry He desired for my life. Long story short, I ended up in the Financial Industry and gave up on writing. However, today I’ve returned to my old stomping ground with a purpose in mind. This is my element it’s a space where I draw inspiration from Heaven’s throne. From the Fathers’ lips to my fingertips, this last year has been a remarkable one. Relying on the Holy Spirit for inspiration.

Jeremiah 29:11

He has a Plan and Purpose for you

God has a plan and purpose for your life. As a daughter of the King, you were designed with purpose. God specifically designed you for his good works, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,”(Ephesians 2:10). You are not just anyone. You did not fall from the sky; God handpicked you and called you out of the world. There are so many lost souls out there who have yet to encounter Jesus Christ. But YOU my darling, you’ve been chosen. Do you know what this means? Just think about it this way, the Bible says the eyes of the Lord searches the earth to strengthen those whose heart are fully committed to Him,” (2 Chronicles 16:9). How amazing it is to know when God said it was time to call my daughter (you) out of darkness and into my light. On whatever day, you heard the calling; He came looking specifically for you. Not your best friend or neighbor but YOU! You were chosen to be a blessing for your generation. In a capacity where God will use you to be a voice for a silent generation. You have been called for such a time as this. And it’s not an ordinary calling God has on your life. You’ve been marked for extraordinary things. Others may have made you feel mediocre your whole life but when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. That mediocre man died, and the same spirit who raise Jesus from the dead now resides in you. Anything Jesus did on this earth you can do it as well. Therefore there is nothing average about you.

Acts 1:8

Container of Power

Darling, there is power in you. As a daughter of the King. Through the Holy Spirit, you have power in you. I encourage you to surrender your life completely to the Holy Spirit. Yield yourself to His direction. Allow Him to lead you, give Him permission to invade your life. This power cannot manifest if one is full of self. One must surrender completely to the King. As a daughter, you understand your place in the palace. You subject yourself to the King. You acknowledge the King as Lordship over your life. He carries the scepter. Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness,” (Psalm 45:6). Who hold’s God’s scepter? Jesus Christ ” His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. You too are an heir to this Kingdom. You have power in you, but you must bow before His throne in worship daily to tap into it. It’s through your daily communication in the presence of God this power is released unto you.

A daughter of the King is a true worshiper. She worships Him with her heart, beauty, mind, body, intellect, soul with her entire being. She adores Him with songs of praise. She lives to please Him and to bring glory to His name. Everything she does is to honor Him. She serves Him with everything He has placed in her possession, whether it’s her marriage, home, career, children or hobby. She works unto the Lord; she knows her reward comes from her King. A daughter of the King knows there is a place for her at the palace. She is caring, giving and compassionate. She lives a life of purpose. She is intentional about life. She is an investor of life. So it’s time to rise up, your hour has come. Chin up princess or the crown will slip!

Heavenly Father, by the authority there is in the name of Jesus, I lift up Your daughters before You. God open their eyes, so they may see all that You have for them. Lord give them a fresh revelation of who You are. Remove every veil covering their purpose and help them to see themselves the way You see them. They are all fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of their Maker. Help them to see their value. They are Your prized possession, and You paid a hefty price for them. Lord, when Your hour had come, You said in the garden of Gethsemane “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,”(John 17:1) Lord their hour has come, glorify your daughters, that your daughters may glorify You.” In the name of Jesus Christ! Amen.

Hi… I’m curious why we are daughters of the king. The king is Jesus, right ? But aren’t we daughter’s of father God…? Jesus would say he is the son of God, and that God the father is his father. Did Jesus ever say he was a father ? I’m genuinely curious so I want to know what you think about this.
