Have you ever been in the valley of decisions in which you did not know what direction to go? In those times, it is best to seek the Lord for His direction and guidance. God is seeking willing vessels that are going to go past their feelings to accomplish His Will on this earth. No matter what it looks like all around you know what God told you to do, sis. You are a lighthouse for your generation.
You may be saying to yourself, “Lord, I do not know if now is the right time?”
“God, I do not know how I am going to do it?”
“Lord, I do not have all of the pieces to the puzzle yet?”
Are you going to push past your fears and obey God, sis? You have been on the sidelines too long. It has been nice on the sidelines, but He is calling you for more. You keep battling in your mind just how will things all work out but let me tell you sis we were commanded to live by faith. Can you imagine risking your life for the well-being of others? A beautiful young Jewish orphan protected the coming lineage of Jesus Christ. Today, we will take a closer look at the story of Esther, and how she overcame adversity and conquered her fears in the opportunity God had given her as queen.
“Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)”-Esther 2:12 KJV
You must be prepared
Esther and the young virgin women had to go through the process of preparation. The women had to go through twelve months of preparation: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes for the beautifying of the women. When you have a calling on your life, God prepares you for the great task at hand. You will have to go through the purification of the heart, He may instruct you to pull something’s off or get rid of certain things not to harm us but to make us more pleasing to the King of Kings. God can get the glory out of a clean, sanctified vessel. God always prepares His leaders before the call. How is He preparing you, sis?
“Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.”–Esther 2:15 KJV
You must remain humble
In Esther’s kind and gracious spirit, she found favor with Hegai the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the candidates for queen. Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. It can be shown that Esther had a teachable spirit. It is so important to remain teachable as the Lord elevates us for His glory. We can bring more glory to God when we remain humble. Do not take the credit for what God is doing in your life. Always remember to give God ALL the glory and honor.
“And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.” –Esther 2:17KJV
You are loved by the King
You can truly see the beautiful nature of Esther’s heart in her selection as queen. She did not get caught up in all the fame of royalty, instead she had to constantly remind herself that she had been given this role by God for a reason. There is nothing more precious to the believer than the favor of God. The Lord has chosen you sweet sister to be His hands and feet, to be His mouthpiece, to be an example for others, to walk closely with Him. He delights in you so much! Continue to keep a servant hearted attitude.
“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”-Esther 4:14KJV
You must not remain silent
Mordecai reminded Esther that if she did noting she would risk more than a chance to do what was right. She could risk her life and the life of others if she did not speak up. The timing was perfect to defend her Jewish people. Esther definitely stood bold in the faith in her day, but now is time royal daughter to arise in holy boldness to do what thus said the Lord. It is not the time to remain idle and silent, but it is time to do and speak up for the Kingdom. Cry loud and spare not. Do not miss out on your purpose and mission in life for you have been called into the Kingdom for such a time as this!
“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”-Esther 4:16 KJV
You must obey God
Esther believed in the power of fasting and praying and gathered others to do the same. What a woman of influence! Esther’s servant heart enabled her to risk her life for others. Esther had courage. She had courage to risk, to reach, and to put herself on the line to seize an opportunity that could have ended in death for her, but she boldly proclaimed: “if I perish, I perish!” I must see the king. In the life of a believer it is so important to spend time fasting and praying. To hear the voice of God more clearly and to fully surrender to what He says.
Lord, Father God help us to be bold in our faith that we will do all that You have commanded us to do. Lord, even in uncertain times give us clarity on which direction to take that will bring You glory. Let us humbly surrender daily to Your will by putting You first. Help us to live boldly and unashamed full of purpose and power in Jesus name!
